I was recently on a trip through Northern California trying to complete the Geocaching challenge National Historic Landmarks in CA Challenge when I hiked down to an old historic sheep ranch. Lyons Ranch provided so much old history for me to experience, but it was my time at UNK working on my 803 research paper that spurred in me a desire for a new research challenge to complete. Inside one of the old houses was a newspaper clipping from The San Francisco Examiner from May 10, 1911. I realized this old paper on the sink had actually come from the walls where they had used newspapers to try and seal the cracks or even as wallpaper. I noticed quite a few of the old papers were still plastered to the wall. I could not help but remember all my newspaper research from my big paper and decided I wanted to find these old papers online and compare the two. Now to just find the time! Stay tuned.
